Objective:
Disabled RRAP provides assistance to low-income homeowners to
complete repairs required to accommodate the needs of a
household member with a disability.
Assistance Available:
The maximum forgiveness loan is $16,000 in southern areas of
the province and $19,000 in the north.
** Forgivable loans are subject to budget availability.
Eligibility:

The gross household income must be less than the established
income ceilings (see below)

The residence must be a
principal residence

The applicant must be the registered owner
-
Modifications must be related to housing and be related to the
disability of a member of the household

A doctor's certificate is required. It must confirm the nature
of the disability and what repairs are necessary to
accommodate the disability
Eligible Repairs:
Examples include, but are not restricted to:

Ramps
·
Chair lifts
·
Bathroom modifications, including wheel-in-showers
·
Widening of doorways and handrails
·
Height adjustments to kitchen work areas
·
Other work approved by Sask Housing Corporation
Other Important Information:
·
Repairs completed prior to written authorization from
Saskatchewan Housing Corporation (SHC) do not qualify
·
An inspection will be conducted to determine eligible repairs
·
Two (2) written cost estimates from contractors are needed
·
Homeowner will hire and pay the contractor(s)
·
Costs in excess of grant are the homeowner's responsibility
·
Work must be completed within six (6) months of approval
·
Applicant must live in home for five (5) years in order to
earn full loan forgiveness
·
You may be eligible for additional financial assistance to
bring your home up to minimum health and safety standards
through Homeowner RRAP
