Objective:
Provides financial assistance to help homeowners and tenants
(with the permission of their landlords) make the necessary
changes to their dwelling so they may continue to live
independently in the community. SHAIP is a companion program
to the federal/provincial cost-share Home Adaptations for
Seniors Independence Program (HASI)
Available Assistance:
A forgivable loan of up to
$3,500 per unit.
*** Forgivable loans are subject to budget availability.
Eligibility:

The gross household income must be less than the established
income ceilings (see below)

The residence must be a principal residence

You are the registered
property owner

Changes to your dwelling
are directly related to the specific needs of the household
member(s).

Renters must receive
approval from their landlords before they can apply for
these programs
